McCann has been appointed to provide UK mainland PR support to Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, following a three-way pitch.

The announcement comes following the appointment of the agency last November as Flybe’s marketing partner to provide advertising, media buying, production and social media support as the airline embarked on a major brand repositioning. Since then, our Bristol team has started to deliver a series of pan-European campaigns, with a major focus on the UK.

The PR team will now also provide national, regional and trade press office support to the airline. We will manage a series of proactive consumer campaigns to further raise the profile of the airline and help drive demand for the routes it operates to reflect Flybe’s ‘Close to You’ brand proposition.

Simon McNamara, Flybe’s Director of Communications, said: “We are pleased to welcome McCann’s PR team on board and to creating really positive synergies through a consolidation of our existing relationship.”

Andy Reid, Managing Director at McCann Bristol, added: “Our alliance with Flybe is one that we’re very proud of and now we’re looking forward to providing PR support as well to such a respected brand in the airline industry. Our specialist PR team will be focused on delivering great work for the airline which aligns and complements the wider agency’s activities.”

The Flybe account bolsters McCann’s strong travel and leisure portfolio which includes Cathay Pacific, Visit Jersey, Bristol Airport, Crystal Ski and Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
